This page lists the cookies that can be set while you browse MOTOR CITY ARCHIVE, what each of them does, and how to get rid of them. It is short because the list is short.

The short version

• This site sets no analytics cookies of its own. We do not track how you move around the site.
• This site sets no advertising cookies of its own.
• Our host and content-delivery provider set cookies that are strictly necessary to serve the pages and keep the site secure.
• If we are running advertising, the Meta (Facebook) pixel may set two cookies — described below.

Strictly necessary cookies

Our hosting and content-delivery provider sets cookies that are required to deliver the site to you: routing your request to the nearest server, keeping the connection secure, and filtering out abusive traffic. These cookies cannot be turned off through us, because without them the page will not load. They are not used to build a profile of you and they are not shared for advertising.

The Meta pixel, when we are advertising

If we are running advertisements on Facebook or Instagram, we place the Meta pixel on this site to measure whether those advertisements work. The pixel may set two cookies:

• _fbp — a browser identifier. It lets Meta recognise the browser that visited the site so that an advertisement can be delivered and its result measured.
• _fbc — a click identifier. It is set when you arrive at this site from a Meta advertisement and records which advertisement brought you here.

Both are advertising cookies. They are not set at all when we are not running advertising. You can opt out of this kind of sharing on Do Not Sell My Information.

How to block or delete cookies

Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies. The controls are in the privacy or security section of your browser's settings, usually under a heading such as "Cookies and site data". From there you can delete what is already stored and block third-party cookies in future. Private or incognito windows discard cookies when you close them, which is the quickest way to browse without leaving any behind.

What happens if you block cookies

Nothing breaks. You can still read every page, look at every car, send a form and call us with cookies blocked. No part of this site depends on a cookie being accepted.

Changes to this policy
